NESS GARDEN RAILWAY - UPDATE REPORT 6/8/2007
=============================================
Loco #7 "Jack Tawes" completed running in this weekend, the gears now as smooth as a Singer sewing machine according to the CME. Load testing will now proceed after the securing of suitable couplings.
Loco #1 "Jesty" performed a number of freight turns on Sunday and performed well.
The lift-out bridge is giving ever more problems and needs to be more permanently fixed as soon as possible.
The tight curve on the northern end of the original loop continues to give problems and the Civil Engineer is considering relaying the whole curve with Peco SM32 track and attempting to squeeze a slightly less tight curve in as a result.
The track at the heel of the pointwork leading to the siding continues to moves despite more ash ballast being added and may also be replaced by Peco in the near future.
A period of rolling stock maintenance is urgently required if the Railway is to be able to run revenue earning services!
